Tesla Generators: Fact or Fiction?

Nov. 9, 2010 - PRLog -- With peak oil approaching and most of our oil coming from countries that do not like us, our energy future is becoming more and more insecure. Even if our suppliers do not cut us off completely, energy prices are probably going to keep on rising.

Rising energy prices hurt all of us and that is why an increasing number of people are looking to alternative energy sources, like wind, solar, hydro, and geothermal. There is also increasing interest in self sustaining generators, which were initially conceived of by Nikola Tesla and improved upon by many others.

These Tesla Generators apparently produce more power than they consume and so their proponents claim that they produce free electricity.

A number of small scale devices have been built and they do appear to work. These devices work on the same principle as radio and cell phone antennas, as they are struck by radio waves they generate a small current which can then be used to do things like top off a cell phone batter.

Larger devices have been built using a different principle. They are very similar to regular generators but by using precisely timed electrical pulses they are able to overcome the magnetic drag that is experienced by regular generators. This apparently makes them much more efficient than normal generators and their advocates claim that they actually produce more energy than they consume.

Based on all of this, it is apparent that Tesla Generators can produce electricity. But back to the question of the various websites that sell plans for Tesla Generators; it appears that some are indeed legit, but others are not. These devices are real, but not all of the websites are on the up and up.
