Runners have the option of signing up for either full (26.2 mile) or half (13.1 mile) marathons. Relay teams comprised of up to four members are also welcome.
The 2010 marathon drew nearly 1,200 runners. The course route is along the scenic Rock River. More than 5,000 spectators lined the streets in 2010 to cheer participants from across the Midwest. They also enjoyed a community & sports expo in nearby Davis Park.
Early-bird discount registration for individuals before December 31 is: $60 for the full
marathon; $45 for the half-marathon;
And starting in early 2011, weekly training programs will be held in collaboration with Peak Sports Club in nearby Loves Park (details will be posted on the marathon's website).
A portion of proceeds will again benefit the non-profit Community Foundation of Northern Illinois. IN ADDITION, runners can create a personal fundraising page when they register to raise pledges from friends, family and co-workers that will benefit the Community Foundation.
