Nov. 8, 2010 - PRLog -- On Nov 5, 2010 SalvationDATA’s hard drive duplicator tool, Data Copy King has upgraded to latest version, being added some very useful imaging solutions to handle faulty drives with a lot of bad sectors.

High speed image has been disabled as default
For drives with good working conditions, you can enable by ticking the High speed image mode, but for many drives with bad sectors or other kind of defects, you’d better use the default mode with high speed disabled. High speed mode may cause a further damage to the source patient drives;

The Image Algorism has been optimized
DCK has been optimized to handle faulty drives with bad sectors. Bitmap will be created during the image.

Image data only sectors and Image unallocated space
When you’re going to image by partition, you’re able to image data only sectors or image unallocated space. It supports so far Hfs+/hfx, exfat,fat32, fat16, among them it’s suggested to image the whole partition when there’re no bad sectors for fat32 file system.

Image configuration is optimized
Users are able to select to create bitmap or configure the sectors to bypass which is a multiple of 8 which it was to select among 1 32 256 52000

Image process is optimized
During the image, you can click Pause button and modify the sectors number to bypass or modify the ‘Step Length’ to image each time according to the detailed situation of the source drive. The step length is suggested to be the smallest for drives with a lot of bad sectors and biggest for good drives. If you select create bitmap within the configuration page, the failed or bypassed sectors will be recorded in the bitmap. And then users are able to image the failed or bypassed sectors only from the log section to image all possible data.

Please note:

1, If there’re too many bad sectors in the source drives, DCK may get stuck but don’t worry DCK will reset the drive and restore the image, during the restoration, the operation panel is disabled, please wait until the restoration is completed;

2, If you need to modify the bad sectors to bypass or modify the step length, you need firstly click Pause button and then the new configuration parameters will be working when it comes to image bad sectors.

We will soon add the upgrade program to our forum and users are able to download it directly and upgrade your DCK to the latest version:
