By: St. Vincent de Paul of Seattle/King County Five events during Thanksgiving Week: • Tues., Nov, 23 -- St. St. Vincent de Paul Food Distribution 10am – 3pm 5972 4th Ave. S., Seattle, (1 mile South of Costco) • Wed., Nov. 24 -- St. Vincent de Paul Distribution of Thanksgiving Food boxes, 11am – 2 pm, 5972 4th Ave. S., Seattle, (1 mile South of Costco) • Thur. Nov. 25 --Thanksgiving Day Meal at Amore Restaurant (Nov. 25) noon until food gone • Fri., Nov. 26 -- Day after Thanksgiving 50% Sale at St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Stores • Sun., Nov. 28 -- St. Vincent de Paul Sunday Dinner at Blessed Sacrament Parish 11:30am - 2:30pm DONATIONS NEEDED Food Donations Needed: chickens, canned food - all kinds, & traditional Thanksgiving food items -Bring to: 5972 4th Ave. S. Seattle, WA 98108 -By Phone: 206-957-7241 -Web: www.svdpseattle.org Clothing, Furniture, Books & Household Items Needed: -Bring to nearest St. Vincent de Paul store (locations: www.svdpseattle.org) Thanksgiving Week Outreaches in detail: 1) Tuesday Nov. 23 -Wed. 10am – 3pm---Thanksgiving Food Distribution St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank, 5972 4th Ave. S. (a mile south from Costco on 4th Ave. S.) We are planning on helping up to a thousand needy households (over two days) with food distribution so they can enjoy a Thanksgiving at their own homes. 2) Wednesday Nov. 24 -Wed. 11am – 2pm---Thanksgiving Food Distribution St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank, 5972 4th Ave. S. (a mile south from Costco on 4th Ave. S.) We are planning on helping up to a thousand needy households with food distribution so they can enjoy a Thanksgiving at their own homes. 3) Thanksgiving Day Dinner at Café Amore Restaurant (5th & Bell Seattle) for homeless and needy, Thursday, Nov. 26, at noon until food is gone. For the second year, St. Vincent de Paul is partnering with Café Amore by contributing breads and other food items and sending people. 1500 needy people expected to receive a nice restaurant experience for a special Thanksgiving dinner or have food delivered to them. 4) Friday, Nov. 27, St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store Thanksgiving Sale. Shoppers will save 50% on most items in the store. Great for all people needing to stretch their funds in tight times. Great for the needy as proceeds are used to prevent evictions, hunger, utility shut-off and more in our community. Great for the environment because store items are recycled and saved from going into the waste stream. St. Vincent de Paul recycles more than five million pounds of materials and collected 143 tons of e-waste annually. We need the community’s help to provide Thanksgiving assistance and help our programs which prevent evictions, hunger and power shut-offs for so many of our neighbors, devastated by lay-offs and difficult circumstances,” About the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Seattle/King County St. Vincent de Paul is known for its 53 all volunteer groups which make home visits to the poor, food and meal programs which provide more than 1 million meals annually, community thrift stores and case management program. More than 87,000 hours of volunteer service are given annually. St. Vincent de Paul is celebrating its 90 year of caring for neighbors in need in Seattle/King County. Part of the largest Catholic lay-run charity worldwide, St. Vincent de Paul helps the needy in 142 countries and was nominated for the 2008 Nobel Peace Prize.
