Aderma® - Nursing Times Product Award Platinum Winner 2010

Nov. 8, 2010 - PRLog -- The Nursing Times Product Awards was set up to recognise and reward the products that are transforming patient care and helping healthcare professionals work more efficiently. The entire Aderma® range was shortlisted for the ‘wound care and pressure ulcer    prevention’ category.

The awards ceremony was held on the 3rd November 2010 at the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane, London. Aderma® came first in the wound care and pressure ulcer prevention category and was awarded with the platinum position. There were 7 products in total competing for the platinum position including medical heavyweights Smith & Nephew and 3M,

Judges’ Comments included:

The Aderma® range has been designed to help protect the skin in vulnerable areas and subsequently help reduce pressure ulcer incidences. The products were designed by FPD Medical a sales and marketing company based in Halifax UK, in conjunction with specialist healthcare professionals.

The Aderma® range includes heels, sacrums, strips and squares however all have proven to have multiple uses. Aderma® must be in direct contact on unbroken skin and is suitable for cutting and washing. In a recent study Aderma® helped to reduce pressure ulcers by 87% in one large acute trust over a 3 month period. Aderma® can be bought directly from FPD Medical and is also on the NHS Supply Chain.
