Meadowbrook Golf Management Expands into Texas

Nov. 7, 2010 - PRLog -- Meadowbrook Golf, a leader in golf course management and club operations, announces two new clients in Texas – Ridgewood Country Club in Waco and Lajitas Golf Resort & Spa in Lajitas.  

“We’re pleased with this expansion into Texas,” says Scott Beasley, Vice President of Operations for Meadowbrook Golf.  Beasley notes that the company’s focus historically has been on Florida and the Eastern Seaboard with some properties and management contracts in outlying states and the Bahamas. Over the last two years, Meadowbrook has implemented a new strategic plan to better adapt to challenging economic times.

Meadowbrook Golf entered into a consulting agreement with Ridgewood Country Club early in the year.  They began with a full assessment of staffing, service departments, technology and the club’s facilities.  “We’ve completely changed how they look at their business; have developed an immediate and long term strategic plan for the Club operations to insure the financial growth and success of Ridgewood Country Club” Beasley explains.

Meadowbrook is also consulting on a $7M renovation to Ridgewood’s clubhouse.   “We showed the Board of Directors that much of the costs of the facilities renovations would be offset long-term by the cost savings resulting from their improved operations,” he adds, “and that made the decision much easier.”

Lajitas Golf Resort & Spa is a recently renovated resort facility located in the southwestern portion of the state near Big Bend National Park.  Owned principally by Kelcy Warren, the unique property offers lodging, golf, hunting, horseback riding, fishing, cycling and excellent food and beverage venues.  

“We were recently brought on board to handle golf operations for Lajitas.  The newly completed 18-hole course, designed by Lanny Wadkins, is known as Black Jack’s Crossing.  Our role is to oversee memberships, fees, golf events, agronomics and maintenance, as well as the maintenance crews.  Our goal is to maintain golf operation standards that far exceed guest expectations for this outstanding facility.”
