Follow on Google News | "Sleight of hand" used to push up gradesThis assertion is unfair when generalised
By: Write Galaxy Limited “Sleight of hand” used to push up grades It has been said over and over again that there are significant ways in which kids who take national exams are being “helped” along the way. These are suggestions that they do not work hard in the run up to exams in order to succeed. They instead owe their high grades to the work of lenient markers and manipulations of the exam curriculum. The fact of the matter is, although some students do rely solely on the savvy of their teachers, others take a keen interest in their studies especially in the run up to important exams such as GCSEs and A-Levels. There has been more and more pressure put on students to perform in these exams as they are made aware of the limited number of university places and the fact that all grades and extra-curricular activities count more than they did previously. In the past few years, because of the job climate, even students not intending to enter university are aware that to stand out they will have had to do well in school. It is our belief at www.writegalaxy.co.uk that these factors need to be taken more into consideration rather than slighting kids by making blanket assertions. This is unfair to them. Note to editors. Write Galaxy is a safe and secure site dedicated to the emotional and intellectual growth of kids and teens aged 6 to 18 through creative writing. It has been in the works for a very long time.
