Nov. 6, 2010 - PRLog -- Mothers & More will feature the YWCA Own It Financial Literacy Program  facilitator Catheryn J. Eisaman in an upcoming meeting designed to highlight the economic power of mothers.  The event, which the public is encouraged to attend for free, will be Tuesday, November 16 at 7pm at the Tumbleweed Community Center at 745 E Germann, near McQueen Rd, in Chandler.

The evening will not delve into specifics or ask about personal financial situations.  Instead, it is designed to bring mothers together to openly discuss the unique and not-so-unique challenges mothers face, creating a safe place to share their experiences, reservations, and worries when it comes to budgeting, planning for their and their family’s future, and making financial decisions in general.

“The topic is frequently all or nothing – either not discussed at all or discussed in a very public, very intimate way, making many of us squirm,” says Deidre Zapata, co-leader for the East Valley Chapter Mothers & More who is hosting the event.  “Yet to be financially savvy is necessary for everyone in today’s world.  We want to bring this sometimes-scary topic out into the light of normal everyday conversation.  This event is our first step.”

Mothers & More is a non-profit organization committed to creating a place for mothers to feel a part of a larger community of women who are experiencing the challenges that all mothers face, not only in raising children but also in fulfilling their sense of self and understanding society’s often mistaken assumptions about them.  The organization addresses mothers’ needs as individuals and members of society and promotes the value of all the work mothers do.
