Nov. 5, 2010 - PRLog -- Sony Music has released the stunning artwork and confirmed the collection of new songs, simply called Michael, will be available on December 13.

A statement said: "Unbeknownst to many fans around the world Michael Jackson was writing and recording songs continuously everywhere from a friend's home in New Jersey to studios in Las Vegas and Los Angeles with a small group of handpicked collaborators.

"Now, through the unique stories that will be told about the songs that comprise Michael, fans will get mind-blowing insight into how this artist worked and a chance to hear the songs he most recently created along with tracks that Michael had a desire to bring to fruition."

A big fan of Michael Jackson, Darragh MacAnthony can not contain his enthusiasm for the new album.  Definitely will be on Darragh MacAnthony’s Christmas list.  Darragh MacAnthony is a young, ambitious business man who was the former chairman for MRI Overseas Property and currently impressively leads Peterborough United FC (Posh). He is the youngest chairman in the League and Posh supporters adore him.

But the record company was keeping the lid on any further details, refusing to reveal the collaborators or the number of tracks.

Only one song, recorded in 2007 and entitled Breaking News, was named and will be streamed on the official Michael Jackson website from Monday.

The psychedelic artwork for the album pays royal tribute to The King of Pop, who died from an overdose of prescription drugs in June 2009.

It is based on an oil painting by Kadir Nelson, who explained: "Michael wears a golden suit of armour and stares at the viewer as he is crowned by cupids.

"He places his hand over his heart and looks directly at the viewer, a symbol of Jackson's big heart and strong connection to his fans and music.

"A monarch butterfly sits on his shoulder, another symbol of Jackson's metamorphosis as a singer and entertainer, as well as a symbol of royalty. His musical history unfolds behind him."

A teaser for the album will be shown tomorrow on www.michaeljackson.com.
