Follow on Google News | Investigators Trained in New Interviewing StrategiesOver 50 investigators from a variety of backgrounds including state investigators, local law enforcement officers and corporate loss prevention professionals were recently trained in new techniques to improve interviewing skills.
By: Wesley Clark This training, sponsored by the Connecticut Chapter of Loss Prevention, included the most current investigative techniques and strategies to assist investigators with obtaining the most accurate and reliable information from people in addition to honing their skills at discerning between truthful information from fabrications. With billions of dollars lost each and every year by companies to shoplifting and dishonest employees, statistics have shown that the most significant factors found in apprehending these criminals and recovering the money and company assets included the quality of the investigation and interview process and a commitment to training in those areas. The investigators who attended this seminar ended their day of training with a lot of new information and new skills to bring back to their respective agencies and businesses. As we approach the holiday season, these recently trained investigators are likely to make use of this training as it is one of the busiest times for retailers in general and loss prevention professionals specifically. Mr. Clark stated, "After attending our training sessions, we have had investigators apply these techniques and strategies immediately within their investigations with great success including helping to focus investigations, assist with securing arrests as well as helping to exonerate innocent people. This feedback is encouraging and we look forward to hearing from these and other students of our as well." # # # Our training programs enhance the investigator's ability to develop rapport, facilitate communication, extract more accurate information, detect deception and obtain the TRUTH from every investigative inquiry.
