Aerosim Flight Academy Ready to Meet Pilot Shortage

Aerosim Flight Academy is poised to increase enrollment based upon Boeing’s crew assessment forecast, and with the success of the Cocoa Beach Air Show, there are huge numbers of potential students that want to learn to fly!

Nov. 4, 2010 - PRLog -- Aerosim Flight Academy is poised to increase enrollment based upon Boeing’s crew assessment forecast. More than One Million Pilots and Maintenance Personnel are needed over the next 20 years. The assessment is the most comprehensive and respected analysis of the commercial aviation industry. And if the success of the Cocoa Beach Air Show October 30th and 31st,  with 160,000 attendees is any indication of aviation enthusiasm, then there is enormous interest in learning to fly from adolescents to middle-aged career changers.

Aerosim Flight Academy’s booth at the Cocoa Beach Air Show featured Aerosim’s AATD (Advanced Aviation Training Device), a simulator used to train pilots, and it was a colossal hit! Spending time with the AATD was worth the wait as long lines and wait times filled in between the air show’s demonstrations and flyovers. The academy also hosted career counselors from across the country including Jacksonville University and Lake Mary Preparatory High School, as well as executives from Cirrus Aircraft, Compass Airlines, GoJet Airlines, JetBlue and Atlantic Southeast Airlines. Aerosim Flight Academy’s primary trainer is the Cirrus SR-20 and many of its graduates obtain employment with these airlines. Students of the academy were also on hand to discuss their learning experiences with potential pilots and the media. According to Mike Moran, Chief Flight Instructor for Aerosim Flight Academy, “For our international students, this was their first air show and “fun in the sun” beach experience. Not only were they extremely impressed with the Air Force and the aerobatics, their excitement was as loud as the thunderous roar of the F-16s.”

Aerosim Flight Academy is among the few pilot training schools accredited with the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). Additionally, Aerosim was the first flight school to participate in the Federal Aviation Administration’s Aviation Safety Action Program and applies the FAA Industry Training Standards in flight training. Partnered with various airlines globally, Aerosim Flight Academy assists graduates with pilot placement. Paul Woessner, Senior Vice President of Aerosim Flight Academy added, “Aerosim Flight Academy will rally to the challenge facing aviation and produce first rate pilots to meet the future demands of this industry.”
