Cachat Celebrates Two Year Anniversary of Being Terminated from IQS

Two years ago, I was terminated from IQS, the company I started in 1988.  The 20 years spent at IQS were some of the best years of my life as I had the opportunity to work with great customers and employees.  I remember the good old days when user groups were in a small office and the food was a six foot submarine sandwich and beverage cooler. The entertainment was a boom box.  I remember the excitement of being part of a new, game changing vision.  Maybe we should do it again?

As I stated in a press release a year ago, during my one year non-compete agreement with IQS, I was free to research new software technologies and market drivers.  I am convinced that the new model for business software, including Quality Management software, is one that places emphasis on the people and the business process, not the technology.  It is no longer acceptable for software vendors to force your company into using their screens based on their ideas of how your processes should be done.  Welcome to the next generation of software, where YOU control the technology.   Your form.  Your process.  Do what you want—the way you want to do it.

The next generation of software will be:
•   Flexible and adaptable (rapid screen creation and configuration)
•   Based on your forms and your processes (or workflow)
•   Easily integrated with your other software applications
•   Compatible with email as the main user interface
•   Leverage cell phones as a primary input device

The next generation of software will be provided as a Software as a Service so that all companies will have an alternative solution for which they do not have to pay a fortune and that they will enjoy using.

I was fortunate to find an investment group that funded a new company, Silico Corporation (www.silicocorp.com), back in early 2010.  Many of Silico’s initial customers are from IQS.  They sought out my new team because they wanted to work with a trusted advisor again.  Many of the IQS customers, and others, are asking me to create the next generation quality management software for them.  You may watch a recorded webinar on this subject at the Silico media portal (www.media.silicocorp.net).

As some of you know, I have successfully created very exciting groups of companies that worked together as design partners in the new product development process.  The first time in 1998 brought together almost 200 companies to develop a PC based solution.  The second time in 2005 brought together seven companies to develop a client server version.  Maybe the third time will bring together thousands of companies to develop a SaaS version?
