By: James Mingey Dallas, Texas - November,1, 2010 - The Veterans Corporation ("TVC") and U.S. Veterans Chamber of Commerce ("USVCC") have entered into a technology sharing agreement which will provide an information sharing forum mechanism for members of both organizations. An initial project will be implemented jointly through the Change Corp for Veteran Entrepreneurs. This project will create a forum for discussing the Task Force issues under P.L.110-186. The Task Force recently met to address six specific Veteran Small Business topics including: improving captial access, meeting contracting goals for Veterans, integrity of certification, reducing administrative burdens, training and counseling. The 12 members appointed to the Task Force are as follows: Elizabeth O'Herrin, Student Veterans of America Dan Dellinger, American Legion Don Graves, Jr., Department of Treasury Jiyoung C. Park, General Services Administration Linda Oliver, Department of Defense Mathew Blum, Office of Management and Budget Raymond Jefferson, Department of Labor Marie Johns, (Chair) Small Business Administration Timothy Foreman, Veterans Administration Willliam Elmore, Small Business Administration John Garcia, Association of State Directors of Veterans Affairs James Wilfong, Task Force for Veteran Entrepreneurship (VetForce) The above Task Force members have been appointed to several sub-committees which will explore solutions and recommendations for improving capital access, Federal contracting goals for Veterans, training and other business functions. The Task Force has been established in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Advisory Committee Act ("FACA") and Veterans will be afforded the opportunity to review meeting records at the FACA website. According to Brian Bascom, CEO of USVCC, " We are very excited about the partnership and believe that USVCC can use the technology to benefit Veteran small businesses through the Change Corp Project for Veteran Entrepreneurs and the Chamber to Chamber for Veterans (C2C4Vets) program, while supporting the critical goals of the 110-186 Task Force."
