Nov. 1, 2010 - PRLog -- Beacon Therapeutic Diagnostic and Treatment Center will be hosting its 18th Annual Holiday Supper Friday, December 3, 2010 from 6:30pm – 10:30pm at the Longwood Campus located at 10650 S. Longwood Drive in Chicago.  The theme, Christmas Wishes, encourages everyone to give generously while being mindful of the many disadvantaged families and children in our community who are struggling every day to survive.

“Every single day children and families in our community face the daunting challenges of homelessness and poverty.  Parents are uncertain whether they will have food to eat, a warm place to sleep at night, or if they can find a job to pay the bills.  For more than 42 years Beacon Therapeutic has been a community mainstay providing the necessary resources to those who are less fortunate,” said Susan Reyna-Guerrero, LCSW, President & CEO of Beacon Therapeutic.

This year’s honorees include: Matt O’Shea – Brightest Light in Illinois Award; Jim Kerrigan – Opening Doors to the Future Award; and Mary Renaldi and The Tinley Park Lionesses – Warmest Heart in Illinois Award.  Event attendees will delight in a night of delicious food, open bar, silent auction, raffles, carriage rides throughout the beautiful Beverly neighborhood and share with Beacon the joy of the holiday season as we listen to caroling by Mother McAuley Acapella Choir.

Due to the tremendous need in our Shelter Outreach Services (SOS) program, monies raised from the Holiday Supper will support this important initiative.  Beacon’s SOS program serves more homeless families than any other program in Chicago and annually helps more than 50 percent of the families served to move out of the homeless system into stable housing.
