Digital signage is ever becoming a norm, signage investment brings about immense opportunities to businesses, but to those who have not realised the potential in digital signage they truly are missing out on a form of advertising which is more effective than print, TV, Online media, Newspapers and many other forms of advertising.

Create a “Buzz”

This is mainly due to digital signage being a cost effective and powerful form of advertising, with consumers being entangled with TV adds this medium which takes much from the TV, is far more effective, the displays themselves are intriguing and form a the basis upon which the viewer takes a first glance, they create a “Buzz” wherever they are seen. Walk into any shopping centre and you shall see people crowded around these displays. They have grandeur about them which no other form of advertising can compete against.

The two main forms of digital signage are wall or ceiling mounting displays or free standing displays,  both being powerful forms of advertising in their own right. The free standing displays are spectacular to look at. The vertically mounted display in shiny toughened glass housing, they resemble nothing which anyone would have seen before.

Specifically designed as public displays, Many organisations embarking on their first journey of implementing digital signage will presume they require a Plasma TV with a DVD/Computer, this is NOT effective and expensive, Plasma TV’s are not designed for 24/7 public usage, they have no toughened glass front to take any impact which they would be taking on a daily basis as a public display.

TV’s are not designed to stay on 24 hours; they have no internal players and require expensive bulky external players which in the first instance have to be hidden from view which can be a task in itself.
On the other hand digital signage displays require no external players, being integrated with a smart powerful player. The toughened glass front ensures the display panel itself is not at any risk of being damaged.

As a form of digital signage Plasma TV’s would only last a fraction of the time that a dedicated digital signage display would before breaking down or faults occur within the display. One of the major reasons of this would be the overheating of a plasma TV, digital signage displays ensure they stay at a constant temperature at all times with extra coolant devices within the display. With all the extra features which aren’t required within a digital signage solution such as the terrestrial or digital television, they are more prone to overheating and faults within their power supply when utilised as a digital signage solution.

Looking at some of the digital signage displays currently in the market including our own, it can clearly be seen that the traditional look of a TV is a product of yesterday, newer models require no mounting, and they are freestanding displays which can be personalised towards any requirements. The Digital Signage displays of today are seen with touch screen panel and integrated with powerful computers to allow a more versatile Digital signage player.
