Center For Disability And Elder Law Wins $24,000 In Services From Chicago Cause

Oct. 26, 2010 - PRLog -- Chicago Cause, a collaboration of three Chicago-based companies, has awarded the Center for Disability and Elder Law (CDEL) (http://www.probonocedl.org) more than $24,000 worth of web design; video production services; social media and public relations consulting.  Chicago Cause is spearheaded by Orbit Media Studios,(http://www.orbitmedia.com)  in partnership with Lightspan Digital (http://www.lightspandigital.com) and Flanigan Communications, Inc. (http://www.flanigancom.com)

CDEL is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and advancing the legal rights of low-income persons with disabilities and senior citizens in Cook County.  The organization provides pro bono legal services through the combined efforts of a modest in-house staff and an active network of hundreds of volunteer attorneys, paralegals, and law students from top law firms and academic institutions.  

“This donation couldn’t have come at a better time,” says CDEL Executive Director Michael T. Roth, Esq. “We’ve recently seen a large increase in the need for our services, yet many in these underserved populations are not aware that we exist and that we can help.  The professional services provided via Chicago Cause will help us increase awareness and effectiveness, allowing us to better meet the needs of our constituents.”

“It was very difficult to choose just one organization from the more than 70 submissions Chicago Cause received, but our team felt that CDEL best matched our criteria in terms of need; impact on the community and ability to maintain the programs we  execute to benefit the organization long term,” says Andy Crestodina, principal and strategic director at Orbit Media. “We’re proud and honored to be helping this very worthy cause.”

As the grand prize winners, CDEL receives a fully developed web site and a marketing video, both produced by the team at Orbit; social media training, planning and strategy by Lightspan Digital and four months of public relations consulting from Flanigan Communications, Inc.  Chicago Cause was launched in July, 2010 to create a formal program using the companies’ combined resources to make a donation available to a broader scope of organizations. Each of the 10 finalists received a 30-second video and all entrants were invited to a free networking reception.
