Oct. 26, 2010 - PRLog -- This past weekend, residents surrounding the Washington DC area and some from as far away as South America were on hand to witness Timber Block’s first show in the USA. Timber Block’s impressive 25 foot high log structure welcomed the visitors to the Log and Timber Show and the impressive engineered R-30 insulated log further impressed those that entered the Timber Block booth during the weekend.

With many states now mandating homes be built with R-19 insulation or higher at a minimum, it is becoming increasing difficult for traditional log homes to compete and even for a log home to be sold in states that have set minimum R ratings for new homes.

“Today’s consumer is very knowledgable when it comes to building energy efficient homes,” according to Dave Kubeja, VP Business Development for Timber Block.  “A smart home buyer realizes that energy efficiency not only reduces energy costs but also increases a homes value for future potential buyers. We were overwhelmed with the amount of educated consumers we talked to this past weekend in Chantilly, Virginia.”

Timber Block utilizes a proprietary system to produce its R-30 insulated logs which utilize premium grade Eastern Pine combined with a high-density polyurethane insulation which bonds the wood under extreme high pressure. The logs are then stacked, stained, bonded with 6,000 pounds of pressure and thru-bolted creating panels. These panels of stacked logs arrive at the home site ready for a quick installation. The wall erection of a Timber Block home, takes hours - not weeks or months when compared to a traditional log home.

Even though this was the first show for Timber Block in the USA, four of the company’s new dealers welcomed and introduced the attendees to the innovative log system.

“We’ve worked for another leading log home company as a dealer for many years before switching to Timber Block,” stated Rachelle Talbot of Timber Block of Tennessee. “Peter and I were impressed from the first meeting we had with Timber Block, the technology is unmatched in the log home industry. Our excitement and enthusiasm for Timber Block was equally shared with many of the log home enthusiasts who see Timber Block as the log home of today...and the future.”

Timber Block is part of a 30 year old family owned home construction business which has achieved a 40% market share in log homes built in the province of Quebec, Canada in 2009.
