Oct. 26, 2010 - PRLog -- Toll Brothers, Inc. , the nation’s leading builder of luxury homes, proudly announces that Chris Gaffney, Group President, was recently elected to the Board of Directors of Covenant House, New York – one of the largest privately funded childcare agencies in the United States. He will also serve on their finance committee. Mr. Gaffney will work with the Board to raise funds to carry out the work of Covenant House, represent the organization to the community at large, and act as an advocate on behalf of all homeless youth.

Founded in 1972, Covenant House provides transitional housing, crisis counseling, and other services in 21 cities throughout the United States, Canada, and Central America. They provide a hearty meal, a warm bed, a safe shelter, and numerous services such as street outreach, health and medical care, high school diploma and vocational training, drug abuse treatment and prevention, mother/child services, and much more.

The organization’s twenty-one chapters are welcoming unparalleled numbers of homeless, throwaway, and runaway children now, many of which have been affected by the current recession and its shattering impact on families nationwide.

“I am thrilled to be able to serve Covenant House and, by extension, the community in this way,” said Mr. Gaffney. “This organization does tremendous work to intervene in the lives of children at critical times when a helping hand can make a huge difference in the path they will take through life,” he added.
