Oct. 25, 2010 - PRLog -- On Saturday October 30, 2010, three authors from one family will be available to sell books at the Simpson Meadows Fall Craft Festival, 101 Plaza Drive in Downingtown, PA. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Simpson Meadows Benevolent Care Fund.

Simpson Meadows resident, Elizabeth Egerton Wilder is the author of "The Spruce Gum Box," a historical fiction novel released earlier this year. She decided to use a portion of her book sales to give back to her community. Joining her at the festival, will be her daughter Cheryl Wilder Krass, and granddaughter, Emily Krass, who co-authored "The Mommy Orphanage," a children’s book about international adoption. “We don’t often get an opportunity to work together like this,” says Wilder, “so I thought it would be really fun to represent our books at the fall festival, and to show others that it’s possible to achieve your dream of writing a book at any age.”

The creation of these two books was truly a family project. Cheryl Krass created "The Mommy Orphanage" from a story Emily made up when she was only five years old. It was as a result of the project that Alexemi Publishing was created. The illustrations by Lauren Francis of California, were based on the mother and daughter team, and because Cheryl wanted to have complete control over the book, she opted to start her own publishing company rather than pursue traditional publishing avenues.  “It was important to me,” notes Krass “ that Emily would have input into her book and that it be published while she was still young to keep it relevant for her.” Two years later, Krass then had the opportunity to work with her mother Elizabeth (Betty) on her novel, "The Spruce Gum Box," which was published by Red Dobie Press, an imprint of Alexemi.

The three authors will be available from 9:00 AM -12:00 PM the day of the event. To learn more about the authors and their books, please visit www.SpruceGumBox.com or http://www.alexemipublishing.com. Video book trailers for the two books can be seen below.
