“Although I didn’t win the overall competition, it is quite an honor that the public embraced my script,” says Kim. “This is only the second full script that I have written and I am optimistic about the possibility of seeing this script put into production in the future. I think most people can relate to the desire of wanting to be part of a family that loves them.”
Kim was adopted from Pusan, South Korea when she was 5 by an Army family. She has lived all around the world and has resided in Shreveport, La after her father retired. She founded Scary Mary productions to bring quality Asian American roles to the mainstream media.
A tireless advocate for equality, she volunteers her time to local independent productions in town. In addition to screenplay writing, she is also an actress and has been featured as a background actress in several productions including the ABC show “The Gates.” She is currently a student at Louisiana State University-Shreveport pursuing a degree in business.
