Oct. 24, 2010 - PRLog -- Hollywood-Nashville-New York – Some may call it a miracle, some may call it fate but Leslie Davis thinks that her faith in God has had a lot to do with her storybook rise to bluegrass stardom in country music.  The beautiful North Carolina homemaker has completed her first major album project with Nashville starmakers and has a scheduled street date of March 2011 for the 12 song album to be nationally released on Platinum Plus/The Orchard during the country radio seminar in Music City.  Her first single is scheduled for release to country radio stations in early 2011.

Leslie Davis was always singing.  Her earliest memories were of her older brother banging on the wall and saying, “Will you be quiet Leslie?.”  Leslie had a very normal upbringing with humble beginnings.  She had (all older) two brothers and a sister. Her dad was a brick mason and he also farmed tobacco.  Leslie's mom worked in a small community store in the middle class city of Taylorsville, North Carolina.  “My parents had great values and always put their family first.  I am totally committed to my own family and they are so supportive of my music,” Leslie told Entertainment Headline News Hollywood.

Leslie worked in the community store serving up ice cream and sandwiches to the customers.  She greeted them with her award winning smile.   She still hugs and loves everyone of her fans today.  Leslie has never met a stranger.  Her parents Sandy & Betty Smith had no idea when they brought Leslie home from Alexander County hospital in Taylorsville that she was going to grow up and become the singer that she is today.  Leslie spent a lot of time singing in her local Center United Methodist church, traveled with her aunt and sister as the Smith Trio and competed in 4-H, talent contests and graduated from Alexander Central High School.  But deep inside her heart, there was always this burning passion to sing commercially.

It was her voice that people noticed almost from the time she entered Hiddenite Elementary School.  Leslie has the kind of voice that makes people feel good all the way down to their toes.  Her singing electrifies something deep inside your soul.  You only have to listen to her version of “Blue Roses” and there's that incredible rush that you get from people who have star quality voices.  The mother of two children often confides that the support of her husband Michael, her children Riley (14 year old son) and her son Kelly (8  years old) are the people who have stood behind her as she has recorded and pursued her music career.  "My family and fans have always been there for me," Leslie said to our reporter.

Growing up, Leslie was always listening to the music of Barbara Mandrell, John Denver, the Judds, and Reba.   Today she is a big fan of Faith Hill, George Strait, Alison Krauss and Carrie Underwood.   She credits her performance to the main stream involvement of her family in today’s great bluegrass revival all across the world.  Leslie’s talent has been heralded by her team of music experts in Nashville.  Image development consultant Janet Smith, Music City’s most famous country music photographer Dennis Carney and her producer, Hall of Fame member Robert Metzgar.  Metzgar sings in the bluegrass group The Smokey River Boys and recognized the beautiful North Carolina star as "one in a million."   Leslie's producer is  a noted hitmaker and was recently awarded the ASCAP Popular Music Award for 2010.  See www.robertmetzgar.com

"Leslie has recorded some of the great original songs on her album including a special arrangement of the Emmy award winning Lonesome Dove theme Blue Roses."  No one could have sung these songs with the power, the emotion and passion that Leslie Davis brings to the studio.  Leslie Smith Davis has completed one of the most intense and emotional album projects to ever come out of the studios in Nashville.  Her respect for the great western movie classics and their place in country music gives her a future place in country music history .  The 6 hour mini-series starring Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones, Danny Glover, Robert Urich and Diane Lane revitalized a movie culture.  Lonesome Dove was nominated for 18 Emmy awards.  The music of Larry McMurtry’s Lonesome Dove has never been done by anyone like Leslie Smith Davis,  according to the online Billboard music critics.  "This album will give Ms. Davis a place in music history." according to Jason Graham (Sr. Music Editor)  from the Go.com Disney web site.

It takes a great team of people, a great record label and many great opportunities to get the chance to record in Nashville with some of the most famous musicians in history.  Leslie’s album features people like Charlie McCoy, Sonny Garrish, “Hoot” Hester, Tony Migliore and Kerry Marx who have been part of the greatest album releases in history.  Leslie recorded at the famous Chelsea studios in south Nashville where so many great artists got their start including Tom T Hall, Shania Twain, and Alan Jackson.  Her current album was produced by award winning veteran hitmaker Robert Metzgar.  Leslie has started working on her next album by choosing songs from the catalog of great tunesmiths in the city where dreams come true.  Nashville gives people an opportunity to fulfill their greatest dreams with their music.   Leslie's first single release is scheduled to go to radio early in 2011 and her album is distributed by The Orchard in New York.  "For your dream to come true, you have to have faith that you can do this,"  Leslie says.  For this North Carolina homemaker, the dream is starting to materialize.
