SCDM Announces PharmaPros as Data Driven Innovation Award Winner

Dataflow manager bests four other finalists for Society for Clinical Data Management's highest honor

Oct. 22, 2010 - PRLog -- MINNEAPOLIS – A tool that collects, analyzes and collates data from multiple feeder systems is the recipient of the Society for Clinical Data Management 2010 Data Driven Innovation Award.

The PharmaPros Dataflow Manager was created for the CDM team of a multi-center, prospective, randomized clinical trial. Its dashboard, graphical view allowed the team to track all study data processes – to ensure that data was acquired as excepted across all sites and sources, that cross-functional teams were not duplicating efforts and that data problems were detected and resolved early.

“We’re very encouraged to see that these companies are attacking the real problems that we face in the industry and that they are branching out beyond the discipline of data management,” said Charlene Dark, CCDM, Annual Conference co-chair. “The PharmaPros product solves the challenge of integrating data across all functional groups to effectively manage the study.”

Dataflow Manager was created for a clinical trial involving Paradigm Spine and International Healthcare. Award judges were impressed by the system’s ability to provide a real-time retrospective of study progress, project future results and its ability to work with any data management system.

“We believe that we have created something unique in the industry,” said Nick Neri, PharmaPros vice president of technology. “It is nice to have a broader audience appreciate this product and to receive this recognition from our colleagues.”

The Data Driven Innovation Award was created to recognize the best advancements in clinical data management technology or service. There were 12 entries for the 2010 award, the most in its four-year history. Five finalists, selected prior to the Annual Conference, demonstrated their products to a judging panel composed of Certified Clinical Data Managers to determine a winner. The other finalists were: Fortress Medical Systems, in partnership with NaviGo Research; OmniComm Systems, in partnership with Gilead Sciences; Quintiles, in partnership with Eli Lilly and Company; and Spaulding Clinical, in partnership with Logos Technologies and Mortara Instruments.
