Oct. 22, 2010 - PRLog -- OSAKA, JAPAN — Nihon Superior Co. Ltd., a supplier of advanced soldering materials to the global market, announces the grand opening of its new Research and Development center. The opening celebration was held on Friday, October 15, 2010 at the new center located in Osaka, Japan.

“Our technical, sales and quality assurance departments have merged, resulting in our new R&D Center. We plan to leverage the capabilities of our new R&D Center to respond to a more diverse range of customer needs. Simultaneously, we will continue to aggressively advance our academic research to contribute to the development of the electronics industry,” said Tetsuro Nishimura, President of Nihon Superior Co. Ltd.

Nihon Superior opened the Technical Center at its headquarters in June 2004. In an effort to concentrate more technology on the new R&D center, the company has merged its existing Technology Center with the new R&D center.

Within the R&D center, in addition to basic Research and Development departments, the company has added departments to concentrate on quality assurance and customer technical service. Examples of the services that the company now can provide include:
•   The development of products and technologies to meet particular customer needs
•   Management of solder baths in service
•   Verification of lead-free reflow soldering processes for surface mount components
•   Study of intermetallic compounds and their role in determining joint reliability

With the resources available within the new facility, the company now can support lead-free soldering, not only at initial implementation, but for as long as the solder is being used.

“At BALVER ZINN, we have a great deal of respect for Nihon Superior for investing in a new building for the R&D center in these difficult times. It shows that the success of SN100C provides new products and new developments for the future.  Many congratulations to Nihon Superior and its president, Mr. Tetsuro Nishimura,” said Josef Jost, Managing Director of BALVER ZINN, Josef Jost GmbH & Co.KG.

The opening of the R&D center is a key step in the growth of Nihon Superior. The company plans to expand its relationship with both existing and future customers through its activities at the R&D center.
