Need for Tax Help Grows as IRS Seeks Funds to Bail Out Bankrupt Nation

With the U.S. fiscal gap growing and the IRS going after delinquent taxpayers to increase tax revenue, there is no time to waste when seeking expert tax relief.

Oct. 21, 2010 - PRLog -- Encino, CA, October 21, 2010 -- Congress has pumped an additional $400 million into the IRS enforcement budget for fiscal year 2010. And the IRS has added 4,000 to 5,000 new revenue agents to assess and collect taxes. The International Monetary Fund has even gone as far as to call the United States bankrupt.

“The only way that the American government is getting money to bail us out of this bankruptcy that we’re in is going after your back taxes,” said Michael Rozbruch, founder and CEO of Tax Resolutions Services, Co. (TRS), an Inc. 5000 company and the nation’s leading tax negotiation and mediation firm. “So it’s becoming more and more common for taxpayers with unfiled returns or tax liens to seek expert tax help from tax attorneys, CPAs, and Certified Tax Resolution Specialists skilled in negotiating with the IRS.”

Bloomberg reports that while the White House intends to collect an additional $17 billion in delinquent back taxes by the end of 2010, experts figure the fiscal gap to be $202 trillion, or about 14 percent of the Gross National Product. That means it will take an immediate and permanent 14 percent increase in revenue, or cut in spending, or both, to return this country to fiscal stability. According to tax relief experts, the struggling U.S. economy needs an influx of cash, and the IRS is aggressively chasing down delinquent taxpayers small, medium, and large to help bring that money in.

“The government is desperate for funds and taxpayers have to understand that collecting revenue through more aggressive collection tactics by the IRS will be more politically appealing than raising taxes,” said Rozbruch. “More people than ever will need tax relief as Uncle Sam tries to take back what he's owed by going after anyone who has avoided their tax obligations - whether deliberately or inadvertently. So taxpayers must learn about their options for settling their tax debt and avoid becoming the target of aggressive IRS collection efforts.”
