Sports Celebrities Support SITG Charity Golf Tournament at Avery Ranch Golf Course

Nov. 2, 2010 - PRLog -- Stand in the Gap is a non-profit that provides assistance to the homeless, poor and needy of Central Texas.  SITG is a unique organization that invests in all aspects of a persons’ life, including financial, spiritual, personal development, family stability, etc.  They strive to equip each individual with the life skills necessary to become an independent, productive, member of society and are committed to reaching the children suffering from poverty by helping the parents gain stability.

The one-day shotgun start tournament, sponsored by The Great State of Texas Land Company, will consist of 18-holes with contests and prizes, followed by a cocktail reception with a buffet dinner, live and silent auctions and an incredible evening of live entertainment by Rise Dance Company and live music by Dim Lit Daylight.  Friends, family and a host of entertainment and sports celebrities were invited, including many of the 2005 UT College World Series team players, to join us for a great day of golf and an evening of fantastic events.  Players will also have the opportunity to bid on these sports stars, including Huston Street, Kyle McCulloch, Drew Stubbs, Robbie Hudson, Nick Peoples, David Maroul, Todd Gilfillan and many more, to play on their team during the tournament.

"Proceeds from the Golf Tournament will help us reach our goal to raise the funds in order to build an apartment complex that will offer training, child care and the support to break the cycle of poverty!"
