Follow on Google News | SySDSoft First to Port LTE Femto-eNB Protocol Stack on ARM processorsSySDSoft Inc., announced that it has successfully ported its LTE Femto-eNB software protocol stack onto an ARM9 platform.
By: SySDSoft “We are among the first companies to respond to the market demand for a very low cost LTE femtocell,” said Khaled Ismail, CEO of SySDSoft. “The efficient design of the stack translates into lower memory and processing power requirements, leading to significant cost reduction. Porting the complete LTE eNB stack onto an ARM9 processor core presents a real opportunity for our customers to bring to market LTE femto eNBs at the right price,” he added. Key features of SySDSoft’s LTE eNB protocol stack: • Well-defined APIs providing access to the full protocol stack • Efficient code, in terms of processor loading and memory utilization • Flexible architecture allowing the split of the SW stack onto one or more processor cores • RTOS independence, through an abstraction layer to support different RTOSs • PHY independence, through a hardware abstraction layer that is compliant to Femto Forum APIs • Ready to support SON (Self-Organizing Networks) and RRM third party protocols • Equipped with an FDD femto-eNB scheduler • FDD/TDD compliant • Availability of femto eNB Scheduler, and also ready to support third party schedulers solutions as defined by the Femto Forum. SySDSoft will demonstrate live performance during the 4G World Expo in Chicago, 18-21 October, where the complete stack is running on an ARM9-based board, serving up to 5 concurrent users with a throughput of simultaneous 75Mbps DL and 75 Mbps UL , for a single sector and SISO, which matches the theoretical limit.
