Facilities Management Association Supports Radon Tee Campaign

Whilst visiting the Total Workplace Management exhibition, Radon Tee met up with the Facilities Management Association to raise awareness of the need to carry out radon risk assessments in workplaces

Oct. 18, 2010 - PRLog -- Radon Tee visited the Total Workplace Management exhibition at London Olympia recently and whilst there, visited some of the exhibition stands to spread the message ‘Reduce Radon’.

Many employers are not aware that they are required to carry out a risk assessment for radon gas. If a workplace is located in an area classified as an ‘Affected Area’ by the Health Protection Agency or it has a basement or lower-ground floor workspace, radon testing must be carried out to complete the risk assessment satisfactorily.

Jane Crocker and Chris Hoar of the Facilities Management Association and Jason Ruehland of Carillion were pleased to support the campaign to raise awareness amongst the FMA’s members.

Radon Tee UK co-ordinators, ProTen Services also gave a talk entitled Radon: The Hidden Killer at the event.

US non-profit organisation, CanSAR (Cancer Survivors Against Radon) is dedicated to preventing radon-induced lung cancer and saving lives through education and awareness, and is sponsoring the Radon Tee World Trek 2010. The campaign aims to bring social awareness to communities through the power of photos, videos and personal stories.

ProTen Services are taking the Tee on a national tour and will be adding photos to the social media campaign at www.facebook.com/radontee.
