Oct. 18, 2010 - PRLog -- Chinese medicine training college, LTCA will run a unique Master Class programme during the 2010-2011 academic year. The London School of Traditional Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine has announced a series of fifteen dates for the seminars, with a spectrum of experts in areas such as acupuncture and qi gong confirmed as tutors.

Jennie Longbottom, LCTA Governor said, “We are very excited to unveil our new CPD Event programme. We have a broad range of renowned guest speakers joining our Master class seminar programme to distil their wisdom. Continuing professional development is an essential component of the acupuncture and Chinese medicine professions. It is becoming progressively more important amongst individuals, employers, stakeholders and professional organisations. With increasing demand for accountability, competiveness, flexibility and a skilled and competent workforce, there is a need for an effective CPD. Our Master class seminar programmes enables attendees to be the very best at their game.”

The first event is scheduled for Sunday 17th October and is entitled, “The Therapeutic Relationship: realising the healing potential of the clinical encounter”, led by well-known author, educator, spokesperson and practitioner in the field of medical herbalism, Peter Conway. This inaugural master class will focus on the practioner – client relationship and explore concepts such as the placebo and nocebo effects and the ‘meaning response’.

The second seminar will be held two weeks later on the 31st October. Renowned expert herbalist, Frances Turner will lead the day long master class exploring intuition in acupuncture practice. The session promises to help practising acupuncturists and those currently in their final year of an acupuncture course to develop experiential understanding of qi, senses and intuition. Topics such as exploring the intention in needling and projection techniques and learning to recognise when energy is being picked up will be studied.  This will be followed by a third master class, in electroacupunture on the 7th of November.

Further seminars, on Chinese nutrition for practioners and improving business skills will be held before Christmas. Each CPD seminar will last one full day, with all courses being held on a Sunday for maximum convenience.
