Oct. 15, 2010 - PRLog -- GM's new Vice President of marketing, Joel Ewanick along with Kevin Mayer, CHEVROLET Advertising and Sales Promotion (who took charge of the division on October 4th) and Tom Dobry, Group Account Director on CHEVROLET in GS&P's DETROIT office, will cut their combined teeth on a "Never been there-Never done that" product launch that, given the amount of journalistic ups and downs the CHEVY VOLT has produced, should test all of there combined Marketing genius like never before.

It's doubtful that any of the Automotive Marketing GURU's of the last Century have faced a more Technology driven product to launch.

To simplify, generalize and magnify all the technology that the CHEVY VOLT has built into it, and span the collective Demographic of expected VOLT buyers, surely will test each individuals broad spectrum of creativity.


CHEVROLET today has upped planned production volumes of the 2011 Volt electric car in the face of strong demand and the likelihood that many dealers have more buyers than cars to sell them.
Volt marketing manager Tony DiSalle said the company would build 10,000 Volts by the end of 2011. He also said that 45,000 Volts--up from 30,000--would be built in 2012. Now, the number by the end of 2011 has risen from a flat 10,000 to a range of "10,000 to 15,000." And for 2012, the company may build as many as 60,000 Volt's.


That number likely reflects constraints on the supply of lithium-ion cells for the Volt's battery pack, along with other electric components, including the 111-kilowatt traction motor, the smaller
55-kW motor-generator, and the car's power electronics.
