Minton’s Sportsplex Announces Continuing Education at Club Industry Convention

“There were many new and exciting things that I was introduced to this year at Club industry,” said Colby Vantassel, Fitness Director at Minton’s Sportsplex “As a fitness director it’s my responsibility to make sure we are providing our members with the latest and greatest, whether it is equipment or programming. The newest most exciting program Minton’s Sportsplex introduces to Texarkana this fall is the TRX training system. The TRX can be just as beneficial for a senior citizen as would be for an elite level athlete. This piece of equipment can do more for core strengthening and balance than any single piece of equipment I’ve seen.”

The Club Industry convention takes full advantage of its status as the leading independent education event by locating and bringing together top experts in a variety of fields, regardless of their affiliation. According to Mike, “It’s always exciting and satisfying to see our team being able to further their education, but what good is knowledge if it’s not shared. When we returned home from Chicago I set down with my managers and asked them to write down some of the things they learned. My next question to them was: how we can implement what we have learned to better serve our members.  This is what Club Industry, IHRSA, and continued education is all about. This year’s fitness, nutrition and education programs were phenomenal.”
