This fall, one of the band’s founding members, Marc D celebrates the release of his fist solo project, aptly titled, “In My Own.” The album is a mixture of the funkadelic, hip hop and R&B influences that have surrounded Marc all his life. “I grew up listening to Lil Wayne, Chamillionaire, Outkast, Silk, or whoever my parents were listening to in the car. “says Marc. “I love what we created as a group, but “In My Own” is my chance to really show the world and our fans a more personal side of who I am as an artist.” The album speaks to every lover of music from the pulsating beats of the first single off the album “Uh Huh,” and powerful driving lyrics of “Let Me Be” to the sensual R&B rhythms of “My Baby” and his own personal anthem “Nobody Like Me.” “I selected “Uh Huh” as the first single because it really sets the tone of this project for me,” continues Marc. “It’s about representing where you come from and what you’re about.”
