Geomagic Points Beyond Tour Announces Keynote Speakers and Sponsors

Customers and visionaries to deliver insight into 3D reverse engineering and quality assurance for industry, medicine and art at roadshow series of events across Europe and the USA.

PRLog - Oct. 13, 2010 - RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., USA, October 13, 2010 – Geomagic has released the names of many of its planned speakers for the upcoming Points Beyond Tour. The Tour is a series of free seminar, training and networking events in Europe and the United States that will explore new territories in design with point clouds, reverse engineering and 3D quality assurance.  The nine one-day events will kick-off in Turin, Italy on October 18, 2010, travel to locations throughout the USA, and wrap up in Frankfurt, Germany just over a month later.

Speakers will include industrial design visionaries Scott Summit of Bespoke Innovations, who uses 3D reverse engineering to develop a new generation of prosthetic limbs, and Beth Roscoe who, working with Shriners Hospitals, engineered a new and less painful treatment for babies born with cleft lip and palate. Ed Shadle and Keith Zanghi, founders of the North American Eagle vehicle attempting to break the world land speed record, will kick off the Detroit event. Phil Botley of Visioneering will deliver a presentation on custom automotive engineering at the UK event and Geomagic CEO Ping Fu will be featured at the Los Angeles and Boston events.

New industry sponsors for the event include: Creaform, 3D3 Solutions, Faro (NASDAQ: FARO), Develop3D Magazine, Time Compression Magazine, ShapeGrabber, and Z Corp.

“These events allow us to celebrate the ingenuity of our customers,” said Ping Fu. “The possibilities of creating better products, changing people’s lives, and reaching new records are endless and exciting with Geomagic.”
