By: Torrey Charles and Willner with The Bungalow The Bungalow Raises Over $10,000 for Military Families in Need “Uniformed Services Night” Campaign Benefits Operation Homefront DC Metro Chapter Shirlington, VA (Oct. 13, 2010) – Representatives from The Escape Group of Restaurants – The Bungalow, a popular restaurant and billiards bar with locations in Shirlington, Franconia and Chantilly, will present a $10,000 check this week to the DC Metro Chapter of Operation Homefront to help provide emergency assistance to the families of deployed and wounded troops , said a spokesperson for Operation Homefront. Dietrich, president of Operation Homefront DC Metro Chapter. “We are so touched by the gratitude that The Bungalow and its patrons have shown for all of our uniformed service members.” Since its kick-off at the end of April, the three Bungalow locations have held “Last Man Standing” pool tournaments each week to benefit Operation Homefront. Proceeds from these tournaments as well as “Honor Card” donations and the sales of Food Specials, Commemorative Shirts and Miller Lite Products throughout the summer resulted in the $10,000 donation. “We are honored and proud to have been part of such a worthwhile promotion. The great thing about this fundraiser was that everyone bought into it.
