Oct. 12, 2010 - PRLog -- With a current count of 1,188 events being held this year around the world, the campaign’s goal is to raise $500,000 to support partners through the 4 different causes;

-   orphaned and vulnerable children
-   women’s empowerment
-   anti-trafficking
-   emergency relief

Courtney Montague, Executive Director of the GVN Foundation believes “since its inception, Eat So They Can has become not only a vehicle for fundraising but a way for people to rally around important issues. Our hosts have adopted the GVN mantra of ‘be the change you wish to see in the world’ and are truly making a measurable difference. Eat So They Can is a tool for people to use to spread awareness and I’m thrilled that we have people hosting events on every continent of the world!”

GVN foundation is 99% publically supported and since 2005 funds have gone towards helping women and children living in poverty across Africa, Asia, and South America

To date, the Foundation’s annual fundraiser Eat So They Can has supported thousands of children around the world. Projects supported include:

-   Sustainability projects such as farming projects and income-generating jewelry workshops at orphanages in Kenya
-   The construction of a new classroom for PACE (Passionate Children and Elderly Care Center) in Uganda
-   Medical supplies, food, and training for children at Mercy Ministry Children’s Home in Ethiopia
