MPW Foundation to present a workshop to Serviam Girls Academy featuring the works of Nikki Giovanni and other powerful black women poets to help empower young women

Oct. 12, 2010 - PRLog -- MPW Foundation under the direction of Mel Brake, Founder and Executive Director, will partner with Serviam Girls Academy based in New Castle, Delaware and host an afternoon workshop to empower young woman.

MPW Foundation is a community based non-profit organization focused on mentoring and supporting youth from disadvantaged economic and social backgrounds within the Tri-state region.

Our mission statement aims to be a force for effective and positive change in the lives of youth and youth based organizations, in both primary and secondary schools. For youth from disadvantaged economic and social backgrounds in the Tri-state, using creative methods and proven techniques such as poetry and music, and other artistic endeavors. We believe that art and music are one of the keys to developing youth, poetry and music has proven most effective in creating positive changes in their lives.

Serviam Girls Academy under the leadership of Jeanne Rapley, Executive Director, provides a rare opportunity for students to experience a full-scholarship, college preparatory education in an atmosphere of respect and responsibility.

Serviam Girls Academy motto is "Educating.Inspiring.Transforming"

Our program specifically designed for Serviam Girls Academy will highlight the poetry of modern day women poets and popular women artists to empower young women to reach for the stars as well.
