Oct. 12, 2010 - PRLog -- Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre, a 20 year American football veteran, has apologized to his teammates for being a distraction after allegations of him sexting and leaving lewd messages on a woman's phone were alleged on a website.

Favre is being investigated by NFL Security for reportedly sending inappropriate text messages and voicemails to former New York Jets sideline reporter Jenn Sterger. X-rated photos allegedly sent to Sterger from Favre's phone were published online Thursday leading the NFL to launch an investigation.

The league says it will move 'aggressively' to find out if the reports and allegations are true. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said, 'We are going through that and we are making sure we understand all the facts'. He added, 'We'll make a determination from there'.

If the inappropriate messages are found to be authentic, Brett could face a fine or possible suspension from the NFL for violating its personal conduct policy.

Sending lewd messages or provocative pictures of yourself or someone else over the internet is called "sexting." Brett Favre isn't the first person to get in trouble doing it and he won't be the last. What was he thinking?

Seems and bit more common sense might have served Brett Favre well. If you're interested in why sexting is a bad idea, along with a whole lot of other stuff, take a look at The Book of Bad Habits.
