Oct. 11, 2010 - PRLog -- The 2010 production of Baltimore Fashion Week was held at the prestigious Sheraton Baltimore North and ran August 19 – 22, 2010.  This event was the fashion event of the summer.  32 designers participated in this year’s production.  With designers from as far as Africa, the colors, styles, and craftsmanship were a true eye opener.  Up to 81 professional and poised models showcased each night.  This was a fashion event not to be missed.  The 2010 designer information is located on the event website - www.baltimoresfashionweek.com under the tab “Previous Event Info - 2010 Designers”.

Executive Producer stated, “I felt the need to take the production level up a few notches this year it was time to turn up the volume of fashion just a tad.”

The production team was all in place and the list is long and strong.  Administrative duties were performed by Darius Thompson who served the capacity of Fashion Week Liaison.  Responsibilities of the Fashion Week Assistant, Tiffanny Parkes, was always right on cue.

Video production was managed by our in-house videographer F. Patrick Smith of FPS Video.  Videos are available now for purchase.

Also, new to the team was Yvonne “Miss Mama” Clarke, who served the capacity of the Fashion Correspondent for this year’s event.  Assisting Miss Mama, for video purposes was the dynamic duo team of M Wallace Videography and Freezing Time, LLC.

“Having a fashion correspondent along with a fabulous video team this year really added that extra oomph that was needed to take this event over the top.  My goal is to use this footage for our media package that will be included in our media kits for sponsors beginning 2010,” stated Nixon.

Interns were a huge factor of this event.  With over 15 young, energetic, and talented backstage intern/associates the show moved with ease, under the skilled and guided directives of Antoine D. Brown, John Fortune, and Robert Nixon.

With over 32 press/media individuals registered, the coordination efforts for this segment was handled flawlessly by Jay DeVries, Candid Photographer and Jeff Butler, Director of Photography.

No high fashion event is complete without a cohesive hair and make-up team.  The fabulous stylings were coordinated by Lisa “Global Stylist” Parker with products provided by Ashae Hair Care Products and the skills sets of students from the Empire Hair School in Pikesville, along with a few independent stylists.  Runway make-up looks were created by Valerie Tilghman, and birthed by her team of artists.  Make-up this year was sponsored by Milani Cosmetics.

With the production phases upped a few notches, it was imperative that the event also -offer a professional sense of security, which was provided by Body Guard Plus, Inc.  More- information on this company is located on their website www.bodyguardplus.com or by dialing 877-724-7707.

Fashion and language go hand-in-hand and the mistress and master of ceremony handle their own as LaRondi Nicole Flowers and Keith Scott, President of the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce provided brief introductions as the designers hit the runway.

No event is complete without the assistance of event partners/sponsors.  This task was handled by Virginia Jackson, Lead Sponsorship Coordinator.  Towson Town Center was this year’s event title sponsor.  With Towson Town Center onboard it was clear to see why the other partners/sponsors were happy to be a part of this fashion event.  Those organizations were AirTran, American Apparel, American Visionary Arts Museum, Banana Republic, Bath & Body Works, Borders, Center Stage, Diva By Cindy, Fire & Ice, Giant Food, Glamour Shots, Godiva, Home Depot, Levi’s, Lush Cosmetics, Maryland Public Television, Maryland State Lottery, Monave’, Motor Vehicle Administration, National Aquarium, National Great Black In Wax Museum, Nations Photo Lab, Niarobi, Panera Bread, Smart & Sexy, The Body Shop, Total Health Care, Inc. – Diamond Plan, Women Entrepreneur Of Baltimore, ALOFT, Nairobi, Paperfashion, vitaminwater, Fashion Industry Network, Baltimore Small Business Meet-Up Group, Africa Pearls, Maryland Print & Design, Hotel Monaco Baltimore, GayLife Magazine, Revlon, Metro Salon Pro, Aesthetic Elevation, Maryland Print & Design, Events of Sophistication, The Beacon, Nixon Development, Inc., FPS Video Production, J’Naki Club Zero Salon, Fashion Enterprises, Jazzy Studios, PhotographybyJR, Apparel Search.com, We Run The City, VitaCoco, and KIS Agency.
