We are launching this draw to celebrate the new collection by C.J.Cairns called ‘The...’ This collection is available to view on www.ccairnsassoc.co.uk and signed limited edition prints can be purchased directly from the site. As an emerging artist, C.J.Cairns work focuses on the surrealist medium and her collections subtly address social issues, for example the females position in society.
The thought provoking collection ‘The...’ portrays the female as an essential link to life and society. Each print depicts the female form as fulfilling a subtle but ever presence stabilising force within society. She is not an object or possession, neither is she a self-less, altruistic force, but a powerful, sometimes not obvious foundation to societies past, present and future. Within each image the female form blends into the surrounding, with her eyes boldly daring the viewer to question her role in the world. Her eyes, the window of her soul, are demanding and draw the viewer into her world and her position within it.
