Oct. 8, 2010 - PRLog -- Devil (also known as The Chronicles of Night: Devil) is the 2010 U.S. supernatural thriller film based on the novel by M. Night Shyamalan, written by Brian Nelson and directed by John Erick Dowdle. The film was released on September 17, 2010, and is the first of a trilogy Night Chronicles, which includes the supernatural in a modern urban society. Plot of the film follows a group of people trapped inside the elevator, realizing one of them the devil. The devil opened at number three place in the first weekend of the box, taking a total distance of twelve million dollars.

The film begins with the employee suicide by jumping from the building. Scene narrated by Ramirez (Jacob Vargas), who mentions that his mother told him the history of the devil roaming the earth, and he always starts with a suicide. Detective Bowden (Chris Messina) is called to the scene to assist in the investigation. Bowden is a recovering alcoholic devastated by the death of his wife and child in a hit-and-run accident by a driver who was never caught. As it happens, five strangers who have committed various crimes in the past, step on the elevator located in the same building where the suicide occurred.

Five foreign Ben (Bokeem Woodbine), a security guard temp safety violent past, an elderly woman (Jenny O'Hara), who is a kleptomaniac; Vince (Geoffrey Arend), a mattress salesman who works part-time crook, Tony (Logan Marshall-Green), former mechanic who served in the U.S. Army during the war in Afghanistan, which is now looking for work in the building, and Sarah (Bojana Novakovic), blackmail Gold-Digger meeting with his lawyer in the building.

Strange things begin to happen, beginning with an elevator stuck between floors. Then, after the lights go out, Sarah inexplicably wound on his back. Other passengers elevator quickly begin to suspect Vince in the attack. Slowly, one by one, five strangers begin to die. First, Vince killed a piece of glass from a mirror, which sliced his jugular vein. Detective Bowden, feeling the connection between this and the man who committed suicide earlier in the same building, is forced to investigate further. Check Guest Log buildings, Bowden believes that only four people missed their appointments in the day: Sarah, Vince, Ben, and "Janecowski". Investigators wrong last as "Jane Cowski" and assume its old name, leaving Tony Bowden suspected that seems only to unregistered passengers.
