Oct. 8, 2010 - PRLog -- Irish bars spanning the length and breadth of North America are currently in a heated contest, competing for the much sought after title of the ‘Best Irish Bar in the USA.’  Due to the overwhelming response received from both bars and bar patrons for this Best Irish Bar Contest, Strangford Lough Brewing Company (SLBC) and Irishbeerfinder.com have decided to extend the competition to satisfy interest. “Bar reviews can now be submitted until the 31st October 2010 so that all Irish bars have a fair chance to contend for the title of ‘Best Irish Bar in the USA’,” commented Emma McCarey, Marketing Executive for Irishbeerfinder.com.

Just days into the competition to find and name the best Irish bar in the USA and reviews nominating Irish bars across North America are flooding in.  Currently in the lead is ‘Croagh Patrick’s Pub’ in Willoughby, OH, with ‘O’Neal’s Irish Pub’ in Philadelphia, PA and ‘Tim Finnegan’s Irish Pub’ in Delray Beach, FL close on their heels. Irishbeerfinder.com has already received hundreds of outstanding reviews from passionate Irish bar patrons and many more are expected throughout the remaining time of the competition.

Grace Lavery, Marketing Manager for SLBC commented, “Based on the quality of the reviews submitted to date it is clear to see how much people value their favourite Irish bar. The beauty of this competition is how easy it is to nominate an Irish bar and help them compete for the title of best Irish Bar. By simply writing a review on www.irishbeerfinder.com everyone is also entered into a draw for the chance to win two flights to Las Vegas.”

Every review that is added between now and the extended closing date of 31st October at 7pm ET (Eastern Time) will help the bar climb the competition leader board. The bar with the highest overall rating and reviews will be crowned the ‘Best Irish Bar in the USA.’ The competition also offers titles to the best Irish bar in each state, offering a main page feature on www.irishbeerfinder.com and a plaque to mark the accomplishment.

The competition to find the best Irish Bars in North America is being held by Strangford Lough Brewing Company in association with Irishbeerfinder.com, the largest online database of Irish bars with over 2,900 listings. Strangford Lough Brewing Company, located in Ireland, launched two of their beers into North America - St Patrick’s Best Ale and Legbiter Ale in February this year. The beers are now available in 26 US states. To find a local stockist or to find out more about SLBC visit www.slbc.ie.
