Contributing Health Expert for DoctorOz.com Shares Ages-Old and Empowering Tools To Stop Bullying

As much and as wonderful it is that positive outreach and approaches to addressing bullying incidences exist, there is a dearth of positive and empowering ACTION STEPS for the targets and their families to prevent and/or end to this epidemic.

Oct. 7, 2010 - PRLog -- The statistics are cataclysmic AND climbing.  Some research shows that a full 77% of school age students are bullied mentally, verbally and physically.  Television talk show host Ellen DeGeneres recently shared a tear-filled on-air plea for an immediate end to such harmful harassment while also helping to rally fellow celebrities to this cause.  All of this attention comes in the wake of five tragic suicides that are being directly related to this insidious epidemic.  Tim Gunn, Jessica Simpson, Joe Jonas, to name a few high profile names, all joining the crusade to raise awareness in order to end this abuse.  And, now, a PEOPLE magazine feature article is this week’s cover story devoted to this devastation while offering a glimpse and a glance into the lives of those who suffer from this form of humiliation, degradation and targeted treatment.

Whitehurst addresses incidents of bullying from across a broad spectrum while answering thousands of emails and inquires she gets from her readers each week.  Not only does she offer effective resolution and solution to the moms and dads who reach out to her in efforts to help their children, but, she hears as well from the woman bullied by the deadbeat dad who won’t pay court ordered child support or the couple in foreclosure who felt bullied and abused by their bank and the legal system.  “Bullying,” says Whitehurst, “is not just epidemic in the school systems but is sweeping across a broader stroke platform that leaves nothing but hatred and fear in its wake.”  “Plain and simple,” she says, ”bullying steals people’s personal power and leaves them feeling vulnerable, alone and in fear of the future.”

“Like clockwork,” says Whitehurst, “each and every September, right before the new school year begins, it never fails that I start to receive tons of panicked emails and phone calls and even Facebook comments from parents of children of ALL ages who are or have been harassed in some way, shape or form by bullies.  Bullied on the bus or in the classroom, on the playground or in more social situations, these parents are desperate for some sort of assistance or solution.”

“This year however,” says Whitehurst, “one of the empowering action steps I offered some of these parents on Facebook seemed to strike a harmonious chord and I started to see positive results-oriented testimonials and comments from people representing a wide range of these bullying agendas.”  These comments were pursuant to her sharing an ancient tradition or custom that comes from the swamis or gurus of the Orient.  These masters called CINNAMON the ‘warm brown spice of friendship’ and taught as well that carrying this simple spice somewhere on the person would also ‘deter and destroy enemies and negativity.’  This same cinnamon spice also believed to build courage, fortitude and strength.   This Eastern custom maintains that anyone who carries cinnamon on their bodies will be engaging in energetically and invisibly deterring degradation and will, as well, be employing energies long believed to repel bullies.  Recognizing that the information she shares with her readers often evokes skepticism she is quick to offer successful testimonies from her own cadre of clients and readers.   She is also quick to underscore that the legend and lore accorded many of these adjustments are time-tested and have been proven effective all down through the ages.  In this case, and with this ‘cure,’ Whitehurst found herself flooded with positive responses from parents who had sprinkled a little cinnamon in their child’s pants pockets, purses or backpacks as well as from other readers who were suffering their own forms of targeted harassment, discrimination and discord.

Whitehurst also draws heavily from her expertise as this country’s foremost Feng Shui expert as she offers a ‘cure’ or an ‘adjustment’ for bullying from that particular pantheon too. The ancient Art and Science of Feng Shui (using the environment around you to shift or change what’s happening in your daily life) says that having an image, picture, painting or some other symbol of a MOUNTAIN hung in the bedroom of the bullied person brings a subtle yet empowering subconscious and psychological sense of stalwart and immovable support.  An image of a mountain is a psychological tool often employed to help overcome fear in the ancient Eastern traditions.  Mountains are said to signify or symbolize the source of what is called ‘heaven luck’ or the luck and protection that comes from a source of invisible intervention.  According to Feng Shui, positioning an image of mountain in the environment of anyone being bullied will provide a stunning sense of support and backing while also offering an anchor that is purported to prevent misfortune, bad luck, bullying or betrayal.

Knowing that some of this advice has been passed down through ages representing some five thousand years of influence and adherence, Whitehurst has also been witness to success and empowerment gained through putting these cures into practice from her own clientele.  She teaches other ways to use ‘sticks and stones’ (essential oils distilled from the stems of plants that can calm and quell nerves and fears such as lavender and chamomile and gemstones or crystals that can be carried as protective amulets as well such as tiger eye and moonstone) to reinstall and refurbish a sense of personal empowerment to the victim or target of abuse.

Whitehurst offers many more secrets and solutions culled from her over twenty years of researching and studying holistic and alternative modalities and therapies.  She is expert in the fields of Feng Shui and aromatherapy, herbal traditions, cultural and traditional rite and ritual and has a toolbox full of effective ancient remedies and solutions aimed at empowering those being bullied while protecting them with information that has withstood the test of time.  Whitehurst can additionally address the following:

*     What all-natural flower essence can immediately bring a sense of cool, calm and collected to any inflamed situation?

*     Are there affirmations to use daily in order to shift from a sense of ‘victim’ or ‘target’ to one of pulling power back where it belongs?

*     What scents or smells offer immediate aid and assistance when trying to bring peace and harmony back to a space?

*     What foods can be eaten to increase a sense of personal empowerment as well as to replace stress and strain on the adrenals and other glands depleted by constant states of fear and stress?
