The documentary doesn't shy away from controversy, exploring Katt's numerous encounters with the law; his adopted children; Katt's reported nervous breakdown; and his subsequent retirement. "Katt Williams: 9 Lives" gives viewers a no-holds-barred view into the life of a celebrity who normally keeps a tight lid on his personal life. About his recent run-ins with police, Luenell states in the film, “I hope all the court stuff stops, because it’s bad publicity and makes me worry.”
The film was directed by Phillip Andrew Morton, producer of "Katt Williams: Katthouse Comedy" and Regina King's upcoming documentary "The Story of a Village."
"Katt Williams: 9 Lives" is available on DVD in stores everywhere on November 2, 2010 via Salient Media/Vivendi Universal.
