FDA to Lead Two Sessions at SCDM Annual Conference

The Society for Clinical Data Management will welcome representatives from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to host key sessions at the 2010 SCDM Annual Conference, October 17-20.
 
Oct. 6, 2010 - PRLog -- MINNEAPOLIS – The Society for Clinical Data Management will welcome representatives from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to host key sessions at the 2010 SCDM Annual Conference, October 17-20.

Representatives from the FDA Center for Devices and Radiological Health will host a roundtable discussion on improving data quality in medical device trials. This session serves as the starting point of an ongoing dialogue between CDRH and the medical device industry regarding the expectations of device clinical data. Session VC will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19.

For the third consecutive year, the closing session of the conference is the Annual FDA-SCDM Forum (http://www.scdm.org/events/fall2010/attendees/program/wednesday.asp), 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20. A panel representing four FDA divisions will provide updates on the future of clinical trials regulation, including electronic health records, data repositories, data standards, e-clinical tools, patient registries and home health.

“We are thrilled to have the different divisions of the FDA present at our annual conference and provide our members an update on issues important to data management and related clinical professions,” said SCDM Board Chair Ralph J. Russo, CCDM.
