Oct. 6, 2010 - PRLog -- Universal Security Management, a subsidiary company of Harpers Leisure International Ltd, can now supply security services to venues throughout the UK in the knowledge that it meets the highest standards after achieving the industry’s most revered accreditation - the Security Industry Authority’s (SIA) Approved Contractor Scheme.

Universal Security Management achieved accredited status after dedicating over a year and a half’s work to ensure that it met the stringent standards set by the SIA.

Fully trained and licensed security staff working at all venues under the Harpers Leisure umbrella are now accredited to the highest standards. Universal Security Management can also contract out security staff that meet these standards to all venues throughout Surrey that wish to demonstrate a responsible approach to safety.

Michel Harper, Owner of Harpers Leisure International Ltd, comments: “We are extremely proud to have achieved this accreditation and believe that it reflects our dedication to deliver the highest possible standards throughout everything we do. It demonstrates how we are able to provide a safe and secure environment for people who visit Harpers Leisure International Ltd’s venues. It also means that we can be relied upon to provide a safer and secure environment for all venues throughout the area.”

The objective of the SIA's Approved Contractor scheme is to raise performance standards and help regulate the private security industry. As public sector cuts raise questions over the future of policing, growth in the private sector security industry is expected making regulation more important than ever.

Andrew Shephard, Assistant Director of the Approved Contractor Scheme for the SIA, adds: “Companies achieving ACS status have been through a rigorous assessment to demonstrate that they meet high standards in customer service, best practice and innovation, and are committed to the compulsory licensing of their staff. This means that their customers can rest assured that they have chosen to work with one of the best security providers in the business.”

Universal Security Management will now undergo continual assessment to ensure that it meets the high standards required by the SIA. Failure to do so will result in the removal of the accreditation.
