PRLog -- Don't you just hate all of those women on magazine covers that have perfect white teeth? Don't you wish there was an affordable way to get your teeth as white as theirs?
What is it about teeth whitening
that makes it cost hundreds of dollars
anyway? Are those high prices just a scam? Can we not even trust our own dentists anymore since they're the ones charging
those high prices?
It was those very questions that sent me off on a mission
to uncover the hidden truth about teeth whitening.
My goal was to figure out why dentists were charging as much as they were for their teeth whitening
services. What is it about the teeth whitening products
used by dentists that makes them so special to warrant
such high prices? I had a hunch they weren’t special at all.
To kick off my investigation I opened up the yellow pages and found the names of three local dentists. I then called
each one of them to get price quotes and to schedule
appointments to have my teeth whitened. The prices as quoted on the phone were $699, $629, and an astonishing $900. Who pays these prices?
After making
my appointments, a colleague
of mine found out what I was doing and she told me that her husband is a dentist.
This was perfect and perhaps I would be able to get some honest
information out of him. I told her that I would be interested in speaking
with him. She called him up and he agreed. But first, before
meeting with him, I wanted
to visit the other three dentists.
