Milwaukee Wisconsin Area Magician Wins Parent's Pick Award

Scott Obermann, who performs as “Great Scott”, from the Town of Mukwonago has won the 2010 Parents Pick award for “Best Party Entertainer” from Nickelodeon’s ParentsConnect. Their Parent’s Picks Awards identify winners in 52 major U.S. cities with categories that cover a plethora of family-related products, places and services.

This year ends the third annual competition for the awards. “The Parents’ Pick Awards are a quick way for parents to find the best local option for their children in a variety of activities and venues,” said Scott Obermann owner of “Great Scott – It Must Be Magic!”.

Featuring the tagline “We’re not perfect, we’re parents,” Nickelodeon’s ParentsConnect is an online resource providing parenting advice and community, celebrating the reality of parenthood. Parents that use the site from around the country were invited to vote for, among other things, their favorite party entertainer. Voting occurred from May through the end of August this year with the winners being notified the end of September. “I work hard and present hundreds of shows each year,” said Scott, “and now I am truly honored to be recognized by the parents themselves as Milwaukee area’s best party entertainer.”

Great Scott started performing magic as a boy of 12. Over the years his hobby grew and now he has been performing full-time as an entertainer since 2004. He performs educational and entertaining programs for schools, scouting events, private parties and a host of other venues.
