By: Ciklum Conducted by Global Services in association with NeoAdvisory, GS100 annual report serves as a benchmark for identifying new leaders in the global services space. This should not be confused with a list of the 100 largest outsourcing vendors. GS100 reflects the global diversity and overall landscape of the service provider community in terms of company sizes, countries of origin and countries of delivery, and this year it represents companies from 18 countries with operations in 30 countries. • “2009 was a tough year for the outsourcing industry. Service providers in the GS100 list are typified by their resilience to weather the economic downturn, the ability to retain market leadership, and the flexibility to play by the changed rules of the industry,” said Ed Nair, Editor, Global Services. • “There is a recognition in large companies that outsourcing as a means to reduce costs has had its time; these companies are increasingly looking at service providers being able to make their operations more effective globally and even to transform key areas of their business. The GS100 companies are the ones who are delivering on these fronts and are equipped to demonstrate new forms of value in outsourcing to their clients,” said Atul Vashistha, Chairman, NeoAdvisory. • “Most companies for whom we set up own software development teams today are looking abroad for ways of doing their core software development instead of just classical project based outsourcing, – and this is becoming a trend in the business. This trend will continue and accelerate as most of our customers will reference that the nearhore own software development team model of outsourcing can yield the same or even higher quality and measurability than their mirrored team back home. The winning companies of tomorrow will be successful in remote collaboration, – also in the software development space,” said Henrik Bak, VP of Sales and Marketing, Ciklum. The GS100 Methodology Companies who opted to participate in the study were asked to share exhaustive information through an online survey done during April and May 2010. The GS Top 100 list was derived using a scientific research methodology and a weighted scoring scheme designed by a panel from Global Services and NeoAdvisory's practice experts, and applied to over 200 data points and several qualitative parameters. The GS100 model for analysis was based on four primary pillars: 1. Management Excellence 2. Customer Maturity 3. Global Delivery Maturity 4.
