Oct. 4, 2010 - PRLog -- Asia, specifically China is the leading producer of resins for the global PET industry, and increased capacities from new projects and return in demand levels are drawing international buyers seeking stable feedstock solutions.

The PETresin Xchange in Shanghai aims to focus on the role of China in the global PET trade, as well as provide insights on issues affecting supply and demand dynamics, and the impact of sustainability on packaging trends and the industry.

Among the prominent PET industry players who will be contributing is Mr. Henry Lin, Manager of Export Department, China Resources Packaging Materials Co., Ltd. He will share his perspective on the “Competitiveness of China’s PET Industry and Challenges as Global Supplier”, touching on trade and raw material challenges and China’s potential in PET export in the long run.

The conference will also see key local PET converters engaging in a panel discussion addressing optimal purchasing processes in “Managing Procurement in a Fluctuating PET Market”. Moderated by a representative from GSI China, top speakers include Shanghai Zijiang Enterprise Group Co., Zhuhai Zhongfu Enterprise Co, and Sino-Belgium Beer (Suzhou).

PETresin Xchange attendees can look forward to highlights such as the pre and post-conference PET plant site visits exclusively arranged for registered delegates only:

•   On 16 Nov: A separately bookable tour of Zhejiang Hengyi’s recent start-up ‘Bottle Grade’ PET facility, China’s newest PET resin production facility. The converted unit which went online since June will produce 250,000 tpa of PET chips.

•   On 18 Nov: A complimentary tour of Sino-Belgium Beer Suzhou (SBBZ) – an intergrated PET perform and bottling plant cum brewery. The plant is the first to pioneer the sale of beer in PET in China, and is currently the only such PET beer bottling facility in the nation.
