Jerry Costello Lies About Being Pro-Life

Oct. 3, 2010 - PRLog -- Representative Jerry Costello (D-Belleville) has a history of saying one thing, but doing just the opposite.  His vote for the Healthcare Bill after telling the voters of the 12th District that he would not support it is a perfect example.
First, make no mistake about it, Rep. Costello voted for the Healthcare Bill, a healthcare bill that allows federal money to be spent on abortions.  And don’t be fooled by the smoke screen of the so called Presidential “executive order.”  If an executive order had any power, the President could have implemented the Healthcare Bill that way instead of having to go through Congress.  The “executive order” isn’t worth the paper it is printed on.

How can someone claim to be pro-life if he gives money to support candidates that believe in partial-birth abortions?  But Costello did find it in his heart to donate a whole $400 to Coats for Kids.
Costello sent out a flier where he accused his surging opponent, Teri Newman, of not being Pro-Life but when reached for comment Mrs. Newman said that her opponent would tell any lie he had to say in order to be re-elected for his 23rd year in Congress.
"What did you expect him to say?" she asked rhetorically when asked for her reaction to the flier.  "Did you think he was going to say "Gee, she's a great gal, smart as a whip and honest as the day is long and you should vote for her?" she continued.
"Jerry will lie until he's blue in the face to try and keep his seat, and when he doesn't have facts, he'll just make up his own. It's what he does--and if his lips are moving, he's lying."
The increasing desperation of the incumbent is apparent in his escalating attacks on the conservative Mrs. Newman as the desperate incumbent watches his support continue to slip away to the candid newcomer known for speaking her mind and being accessible to the residents of the 12th Congressional District.
