Scenario Generator Finalist for ‘Healthcare IT Product Innovation’ of the Year Award

Oct. 1, 2010 - PRLog -- The E-Health awards promote IT innovation in NHS organisations and “reward outstanding work within the UK healthcare sector”.   This year, SIMUL8 Corporation's Scenario Generator software has been selected as a finalist in the "Healthcare IT product innovation" category.  

Organisers, E-Health Media, stated; “Healthcare IT has always benefited from a strong relationship between provider organisations and suppliers to generate new products that bring benefits for patients.”

Scenario Generator was developed in collaboration with the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement, NHS East of England and SIMUL8 Corporation.  It is the only simulation software tool used to model the whole healthcare system.  The majority of NHS England PCTs already use it to improve their patient care pathways, services and overall efficiency.  Health organisations use the tool to model changes in a virtual environment to test the impact, manage risks and support evidence-based decision-making.  With proven success across England and Scotland, Scenario Generator has helped organisations plan for the impact changing demands and policies and make informed decisions about the future of the healthcare system.

The tool generates patient related events using national or local data on prevalence of conditions and health service utilisation.  This information is matched to key population characteristics for that particular PCT to allow the impact of population health, size and demography to be modelled.
